“His and "Hers"” documents the difference between men and “women’s” clothing. By the simple act of looking, it is revealed that men’s clothing covers and protects, while “women’s” clothing reveals and exposes. The work reveals that there is no such thing as “women’s” clothing- the fabric women wear is designed for men and the male gaze, to satisfy their notions of desirable femininity. It is a tool used to ensure the vulnerability of women, keeping us on constant display, and to remind us of our“place” in society.
